| So we're still going to record a new record. And we're still going to record some songs with Eric Delegard in Denton next week. But we're not going to record them all. Drew suggested this initially and I had other ideas. Because it's been soooooooooooo long since we released a new CD. But... |

The thing is, we have had so many interruptions over the last couple years that if we recorded all of our unreleased songs right now - the "new" songs - we would have a 10 song CD with many different personalities. Our last CD suffered from this prominently. These "new" songs were written over the span of these 2 or so years and as a result touch on many different styles and moods. But like I said, we're still planning to record 1 or 2 songs. The finalists right now are: "Am I Sleeping" (we all like this one), "Spin I'm In", and "Shades of Gray". We played "Shades of Gray" live on the OKC 94.7 the Buzz's Born & Bred show and we play that one live at our shows. The other two we've never performed on stage.
So how long till we actually do release a CD? Well the plan is to write songs like mad over the next few months. And have 15 or 20 songs to choose from for the next CD. This in our opinion will yield a much better finished product. In the meantime we're going to take the song(s) we record with Eric next week and use them for festival submissions and the quickly approaching March Bandness on the Buzz. We'll stick them out on myspace too (www.myspace.com/ballista). We'll probably make the newly recorded songs available for mp3 purchase on sonicbids too: www.sonicbids.com/ballista.
Bottom line. New CD - we're probably looking at Fall 06. It's a pisser. But wtf - we have to maintain our artistic integrity, right? Oh, and I should've listened to Drew in the first place. I'm kinda slow like that sometimes.
