10/03/2005: "Yeah, We Played OSU"
Last Friday night we jumped in the Vandal and drove our asses a little over an hour northeast. Can I just ask something: Am I the only one in Oklahoma that has never set foot inside Eskimo Joes? Because people always seem incredulous when I tell them this. However, I have now been to Eskimo Joes, if not inside. I handed out about 200 fliers out front...
So yes. We did in fact play OSU. Who won? I'm not really sure. The shit went down at the Starlight Terrace in the student union. I should have pictures in the photo album soon. This was a bit of an odd show.

After handing out fliers we scooted our asses on over to the student union which we had scoped out from the Vandal earlier. I went in and left Billy and Tina in the car whilst I wandered around trying to find this place. Gee, if only I'd printed out the map that told us exactly where to go. This map that had been sent to me a week earlier. But whateva. I finally found it.

At first I thought that the "Starlight Terrace" was this room. But it was actually, this room. The wonderful aroma of free food was my guide. I ate a shitload of free chicken fingers. Billy even took a plate home.

So how did the gig go? Well it went pretty well. midAmerica went on first. They sounded great, though the PA wasn't quite powerful enough to get the vocals up to where they needed to be. They got started a little late and apparently the PA equipment had to be back by a little after midnight - so our set got cut a little short. So we only played our best songs.

The crowd wasn't what any of us had hoped for, but we were well compensated for our efforts and the people that were there were fired up. So that was cool.

But BY ZEUS'S BEARD it rained on the way back. It lightened up when we got close to our rehearsal space to unload. Then of course it started raining even harder than before. Oh well. Don't forget to bring a towel.
