08/28/2005: "Vandal Scandal Part Tres"

I said I'd give you an update on the lengthy adventure I have come to call the "Vandal Scandal". For those of you who haven't read previous blog entries (consider doing so as I'm sure you'll be enrapt). I, in fact, was backed into by a guy in a rental car in the Quik Print/Enterprise Rent-a-car parking lot. To summarize: it sucked. But there are a couple of new developments I thought I would reveal to those of you that have been ceaselessly emailing me for MORE! MORE! MORE! Ok maybe nobody emailed me. But here it is anyway...

The guy's son finally returned my phone call. He said his dad was out of the country but he wanted to make sure that this was taken care of. I was delighted to be sure - as I would also like to make sure that it's taken care of. I told him I had an estimate. He said that his dad had authorized him to go ahead and write me a check if it was $500 or less. But if it was more he would want me to get another couple of estimates -- and I'd have to wait until the guy returns to the good ol' U.S. of A. That sounds reasonable to me. So I've now hustled around and attained two more estimates. One that's more than the original and one that's less. I plan on faxing the estimates to son of accident guy tomorrow. We'll see.

You know this installment of the Vandal Scandal kinda sucks. I wholeheartedly apologize. In comparsion to part one and part two - well, there's just no comparison. But keep the faith. I feel certain that before this is over other surprising and startling events will unfold!
