| So it's practice night. We rehearse (for the most part) every Monday and Wednesday. Lately we've been getting more and more wacked out at practice. The Red Bull runs freely, we have wings - of course, and we run amok. So tonight we had an exceptional rehearsal... |

and we were done. Almost. Karthik and I were going over some bass parts for a new song ("Your Place or Mine") and Kyle was kinda dickin' around on the drums - his brother Kent and a friend had shown up just a few minutes earlier and were hanging out. Yeh, yeh, blah, blah, blah. My back is to Kenneth and I hear this really bad sound. It's the kind of sound that hurts just to hear it and it's coming from Kenneth. I turn around just in time to see Kenneth's guitar rebounding off the wall hit his amp and fall to the floor. Let me tell you - it felt like I just got kicked in the nuts. Damn. There's just this painful sound that an instrument makes when it falls - it's like the fingernails across the chalk board sound except maybe worse.
So how did this come to pass? Well over the last couple of weeks Kenneth has been doing this swing-the-guitar-around-his-body-thing. Each time he does it he becomes more brazen. And I must say "Kenneth, you look marvelous." But this time something was amiss. The straplock on the bottom of his guitar decide that it had had just about enough of this swinging nonsense and the little fucker just popped right out of the guitar. And, well, the rest is obvious. Kenneth patched it back together with some tape in the no-longer-a-virgin-hole in the bottom of his guitar. I hope he does this shit at a show.

I'm sure Keneth can attend practice via the prison's closed circuit cameras!!!!!
