| 07/24/2005: "Greymatter has nearly used up my grey matter" |

| Do you see all this neat blog stuff? I really must say that the open-source greymatter engine I downloaded is pretty configurable. By the time I'm done with it, it will really look like part of the rest of the site. But this is not without some suffering on my part. I finally stopped working on it about 5AM this morning. The majority of those hours were spent trying to figure out how to set a path in the beginning of some code. You probably don't care about any of that though - or do you? Well you're reading this so I guess you do... |

Anyway, greymatter is technically not supported for Windows servers - guess what kind of server this site runs on? But it's one of the best no-database-required blog engines I could find. Over the next few days (weeks?) I'll complete the integration of greymatter into the new ballistamusic site (temporary url only). Thereafter I promise not to write lengthy compositions about my internet programming woes (probably). I'll only speak of the funk, the rock, and all the trials and tribulations befalling my band. But one last question before I close the door on this amazing essay - and this one goes out to all you geeks in geekland: Does anyone know anything about accessing SMTP mailservers from PERL? Because I can't seem to get this sonuva* to send me an email when a comment is posted.

And I also got the RSS generator working so all the Ballista news junkies may more easily attain their fix. Wait, I wasn't going to talk about this shit anymore... cF
